Yogalates Code of Ethics
Members of the Association will uphold the Code of Ethics as set out
by the YTA. Members are committed to the practice of Yogalates™ and the
philosophies of Yoga and Pilates. Members demonstrate professionalism
in their presentation, maintain current First Aid Certificates and
comply with Occupational Health and Safety Standards.
Code of Ethics
All Yogalates Teachers’ Association members embrace the following Code of Ethical Practice:
- Maintain the highest standard of teaching and practictice of the Solomon Yogalates™ Method
- Promote an environment that is free from discrimination and harassment
including unsolicited approaches, comments or physical contact of a
sexual nature, victimisation, bullying and racial vilification
- Promote Yogalates™ as a safe practice which promotes unity of body and mind
- Conduct Yogalates™ sessions with care, respecting the body, mind and spirit of all my students
- Teach within the limits of my training and capabilities
- Do not misrepresent myself, the practice of Yogalates™ or the founder Louise Solomon in any way
- Promote and advertise my teaching and the benefits of Yogalates™ with honesty
- Use my knowledge and skill at all times with compassion whilst upholding the philosophies of Yoga and Pilates
- Make referrals when appropriate and encourage students to seek assistance from other professionals of their choosing
- Hold in confidence and with integrity any written or verbal personal information
- Respect the individuality of students. Aim to teach the holistic
beliefs and values of Yoga & Pilates without imposing these beliefs
and values
- Commit to my personal growth through the updating and expansion of my knowledge, competence and skills
- Behave honestly and ethically, being aware of my legal responsibilities
and conduct my financial affairs in line with recognised business,
accounting and taxation procedures
- Co-operate fully with any
ethical investigation by the Yogalates™ Teachers' Association Inc. and
report any actions or practices that violate this code
